My story:

As I walked in to the high school room to help out I looked around and odds are part of teens in this class is having sex already. Which ones? They knew who they were. Would they talk to me, most likely or maybe not any adult. Odds would say some could be infected by the human Papilomavirus (HPV)

This is a war to be waged  against  the HPV which may cause cervical cancer taking the live of women around the world.

HPV vaccine:

According to the CDC news room (1) A new study in the June isue of The Journal of Infectious Disease showed a decrease by 56%  in female teenagers 14 - 19 years old of age infected by HPV since the vaccine was first out in 2006. Around 79 million Americans, most young between late teens to early twenties are currently infected by HPV with about 17 million new cases each year. With 19,000 cancers caused by HPV with cervical cancer most often.  Men are also dealing with around 8,000 cancers with oropharyngeal (throat) cancers caused the most common by HPV in the United States.

The press release quoted CDC Director Tom Frieden M.D., M.P.H dsuomh., “Unfortunately only one third of girls aged 13-17 have been fully vaccinated with HPV vaccine.  Countries such as Rwanda have vaccinated more than 80 percent of their teen girls. Our low vaccination rates represent 50,000 preventable tragedies – 50,000 girls alive today will develop cervical cancer over their lifetime that would have been prevented if we reach 80 percent vaccination rates.  For every year we delay in doing so, another 4,400 girls will develop cervical cancer in their lifetimes.”

Usually vaccination start at age 11-12 for both males and females. How ever only about half the girls in the U.S. Routine vaccination at age 11-12 for both boys and girls is recommended, but according to recent national immunization surveys, only about half of all girls in the U.S.—and far fewer boys—received the first dose of HPV vaccine. A series of three shots is recommended over six months.  HPV vaccination is also recommended for older teens and young adults who were not vaccinated when younger.

Vaccine can start at age 11:

There is a choice for every child and their parent for the child to get vaccinated. Some parents are against vaccines. There is always risk to every act we take. The question I asked which was worse some protection or no protect with a possible death sentence? Each of us will have to decide for ourselves which is the best choice.

It’s not about sex:

This health crises for our young is not about sex. It’s about protecting and saving lives. Some teens and young adults will have sex, some won’t if no one has the HPV no one can pass it on to another. As a parent it wasn’t about giving permission for sex is was just about protecting from warts that can cause cancer. The fewer people who have been infected the less likely a person will be infected.

Final words:

Protect enough of the population around the world and potentially a virus can be eliminated altogether. Eliminating one more cause of cancer helps save lives and avoid the cost, pain and devastation it may cause in the long run. This is not a female or male challenge, this is everyone’s problem to help solve. Together we can solve this challenge, prevent pain and suffering saving lives and increasing the productivity of society with one less challenge to think about and solve.

Vote with your money:

Looking at the whole picture always helps me make a better choice. Be more proactive we can all become just a little bit better and the more likely the negative results in life can be avoided. Stand up tall with an upright posture and be proactive. The solution  helps to keep moving the best direction is to step onto the path of True Health.  Discover a new world. Help yourself, help the world, step on to the Path of True Health and vote with your dollars  company you want to support to create a world you will love to live in. I do, and I like the world I am helping to create. Together we can create a better life for all to remember over their entire lifetime  Together we can protect what we have so we don’t need to live in a world that is second rate.
