Which is better for the patient live healthy tooth or dead tooth just sitting in the mouth?:
An unhealthy tooth saved by reversing the infection and filling the tooth making it strong and healthy again (crowning it if necessary) or “killing the tooth” performing a root canal and applying crown over the now gutted tooth with a hollow inside, warm, dark and damp?
Some might say what is the difference. It comes down to a tooth with a “hollow” spot where living tissue (pulp) was present vs. a fully alive tooth with the pulp intact? Dark warm places are a wonderful place for bacteria to grow and create havoc in the body, leaving a person at a possible higher risk over a life time. It is like having a war within a large hole in the defense for the “enemy” (bacteria) to attack.
Today the only difference is the knowledge of how to turn the infection around. The medical care professional may gravitate to a root canal and may say it is the only option. In reality it may mean it is only easier for the medical care professional, not the best for the patient.
The only thing between you and a root canal or any other procedure that they want to cut or destroy tissue is your questions and knowledge level. There is a strong possibility for an infected tooth that there is a way to heal the infection and then move forward.
In the near future there is likely to be new procedure that can work with living tissue rather then dead tissue. As I wrote about in a previous article (1) about teeth and the newest ideas to heal. It is quickly becoming a reality that we may be able to regeneration a tooth and would most likely have no need for fillings, root canals or tooth extractions. Using the persons own DNA from the pulp of the tooth ( the living part) all of this has already been created in a lab.
Options don’t always cost more in money, yes in time:
It is not the best for everyone when our professionals lack the ability to take care of their patients with the best option for the best out come available. It is not always about lot of money difference. It is sometimes about time and if something doesn’t work in the long run it may cost a little more. If there is no progress in healing the option of killing or extracting can be used. So the cost would be the time and the money to heal.
A the mercy of the doctor’s ability and desire to help:
The option a patient is given may rely only on the doctor or medical professional’s abilities to understand, remember and to offer the best choices available. If a medical care professional is unable to be flexible and grasp new ideas will this inability create a bully who speaks eloquently or abruptly?
If the patient was young and had another 80 + years to live or even if they are older are limited options give to create only one answer acceptable outcome?
Doctor’s have an excellent education in surgery, prescription drugs, most of the time solving symptoms with an occasionally helping the body to reverse and regenerate to the healthiness the patient deserves.
If a doctor can’t remember new information, the doctor can’t use the information.
Doctor’s solve medical issues best when they are able to remember coming up with the best option or several options that may solve the problem. If most of the people in a population are unhealthy odds are their medical professionals are in the same boat. An unhealthy doctor becomes “lazy” in though just like anyone else. The memory is key to helping to analyze and understand what is best way to get the best results for this patient. Even if the doctor is exposed to new ways and ideas if the doctor can not remember the information is as if it was never told.
Doctor’s favorite way or no way:
Doctors get stuck in their way of thinking, may times using only what they favor in a medical procedure or what they are most familiar with unaware or maybe even not understanding a different way of solving a medical issue. New ways become scary to anyone. If there is not a willingness to learn new ways then what is most familiar is the most likely way that is chosen. Most likely when any one is unhealthy they are not as willing to learn new ways including medical care professionals.
Best for the patient or best for the doctor?
We need well trained healthy doctors and medical professionals. There are times there is no other answer and having a physical annual gives an insight that can not be achieved without a well trained professional plus lab work. If the medical industry only trains their doctors to solve the symptoms that leaves everyone at risk for inferior treatments and solutions.
The idea that there is no pain now so I am ok in long run creates more pain, more prescription drugs to be prescribed, and more likelihood of an early death. Instead of stronger, healthier people able to react quickly, solve problems quickly choosing the best option of many and less need to see a medical care professional.
If there is a quick way to do things that may become the only option for a patient offered by the medical care professional. An option not being the best option just the option offered that solves the surface problem.
Bully, unhealthy doctors can’t listen, get angry and use a big stick to control or with holding services leaving the patient with no real answers or help:
It is always a great idea to ask the medical care professional if there is another alternative. Even if the medical care professional doesn’t handle that procedure, it gives the patient new options to look for some one else or continue on what is being offered. It also may tells the patient if the doctor is healthy enough to have a memories and be able to comprehend and give the very best advice possible.
The unhealthy doctor, may become a bully, unable to listen, understand and hold their temper. Holding their power of knowledge and license over the patient. I have seen this over reaction in a very nice way and a very angry way. The doctor or medical care professional may not even realize they are acting inappropriately. This thought does not make it ok except in the mind of the medical care giver.
It only gets worse when the doctor knows the patient has limited options. The absolute power may blind any sense of logic or responsibility to do the best for the patient. If a patient has recourse they have options. If a patient has no resources and is bound to the insurance companies choice the patient may be suck with a bully doctor unless they are healthy enough to think of options.
Do patients want options?:
It may not be all the medical care professions doing that may options may be missed. People who are ill may times may not be able to make a choice if given one or be able to think clearly enough at the time to ask the best questions to gain the best results.
No one thinks as well when sick or in pain.
Some solutions:
Ask questions and get second options when possible. Don't say yes until you do your own research. If time is sensitive realize there may be no other options to work with. Do your research before you go to the doctor's (doctor's are human and can have off days or become unhealthy over time). We don't get to know our doctor's blood pressure, cholesterol blood sugars or if they have been diagnosed with diabetes We don't know our doctor's medical history so we can only judge them by what we see and hear. The truth may be in the old saying, "Doctor's make terrible patients" if they make terrible patient do they do what is necessary to become healed and healthy?
The more proactive the more likely there is some protection from others mistakes and missed information to help you.
Final Words:
When anyone is in pain, a lot or a little, they may become victims of another’s ability to understand and solve the problem that could affect the patient for a life time. The patient may be willing to settle for less and just not care to get rid of the pain.
There are time that there may be only one answer. In my experience because I study many new options that are available I may have an answer that was not thought of by the medical care professional. I still need this professionals help and find it sad I have to educate have the best option available to me.
The normal response I receive is a conversation on finding out what the best options are and what is the best solution to the problem. There has been 2 times I have talked to a medical care professional I knew had their own health issues. Both times they became angry and started to yell at me. Most unprofessional behavior mostly a product of their own health issues at the time. Both times with further conversation they clamed down and listened. One understood and agreed with what I was saying and the other, well only time will tell if that medical care profession understands.
I was presented with a the same choices as everyone else what are may options? Leave, stay or try to find common ground. I am like anyone else, when I need a doctor’s care I am trapped by my ability and the medical care professionals abilities of communications, what insurance will pay for and my own resources to find or pay for other options.
The more we demand for better care the better our care will become. The normal and standards are set by what we are willing to accept. If we demand better options they will most likely over time become the norm.
If a tooth is healthy all that may be required are periodic cleanings. If a tooth is unhealthy then there are more dramatic choices that are to be made. This goes for any part of the body when it is unhealthy. The best for the patient may give way to the best for the medical care professional with the side effect of a solution that works and yet isn‘t the best for the patient. Where there is health there is little need for medical care professionals except to help make sure we are on track.
Looking at the whole picture always helps me make a better choice. Be more proactive we can all become just a little bit better and the more likely the negative results in life can be avoided. Stand up tall with an upright posture and be proactive. The solution helps to keep moving the best direction is to step onto the path of True Health. Discover a new world. Help yourself, help the world, step on to the Path of True Health and vote with your dollars company you want to support to create a world you will love to live in. I do, and I like the world I am helping to create. Together we can create a better life for all to remember over their entire lifetime Together we can protect what we have so we don’t need to live in a world that is second rate.
