"A war of words
within the same language gets us no where
Understanding what is said to find a way"

Word, words, words. Seems everyone uses them or at least humans. The language of nature is there all around us. As I stand in the middle of the farm watching the irrigation water nourish the land I can see the insects scurry to a new high using what they need finding a way to to communicate to each other, the impending flood they have no control over. I can hear the ground actually absorb the water, the ants caring their eggs and the occasional dragon fly loving the effects of being home over the water. Just a few feet away there is land that will be unaffected by the flow of water and all seem normal with bees and butterflies collecting the nectar form the wild flowers. Not one word spoken and yet all has order and purpose quickly and quietly followed.
I sat there today and wondered do words get in the way of communication?
It seems to me when I talk to one person and tell them a fact the response is amazing depending on how they interpret it. What one word means to me may not even be close to what the word means to the other. When I walk into the doctors office it took me years to find the secret code to their language. It seems I am not the only one to notice this career gab in vocabulary creating a language barrier affecting us all form doing our best. The langue used with in a field is great to communicate with others in that field and a poor way to communicate to others. It seems Alan Alda, yes the actor who played on MASH is not only shedding light on this but helping to correct the problem.
Alan Alda teaches communication to scientist to create a new understanding:
The news daily reports on Alda's progress in teaching scientist to speak a common language almost any one could easily understand. Alda knows the important work done by those with the ability and experiences to understand the complex scientific issues and the lack of ability to translate the importance of that information to those who need to understand like the US Congress, US Senate right down to the every day people of this world. Alda remembered watching a congressional hearing on climate change where scientist were grimly failing at passing the significant on of the facts and. what that represented. Seeing the congressmen just responding with talk of politics. The words were both English the understand was as if both were speaking a different language. Clear communication was necessary to find a clear path of action benefiting everyone. It is as simple as saying, "We are going to die if we don't change and this is how we need to change..."
It is clear when the problems of the world affect Congress or the Senate, like not enough air traffic control means not enough flights then suddenly money is found and the problem is fixed. Clear understanding gets results.
Alda recalled a time when filming in Chile he was disabled by sharp pains in the stomach. Alda was taken to a doctor who could simply communicate telling Alda "Some of your intestine has gone bad, and we have to cut out the bad part and sew the two good ends together," that was language most anyone could understand. Giving a clear picture to what needs to be done and a solution.
Final words:
A picture is worth a thousand words is a though I often have. Yet words can paint a picture in the imagination instantly giving the message that is needed. It is what I work on every day because I know if someone doesn't understand me I can not help them help themselves. We can not move forward together. Look for words that say what you mean and mean what you say and it may help more than just you.
Language is developed over time, vocabulary increases with questions asked to see if we are on the same page. If we are not on the same page very different results tend to happen. Only when we share a common understanding can we move forward.
The more proactive we can all become the more likely the negative results in life can be avoided. Stand up tall with an upright posture and be proactive. The solution helps to keep moving the best direction is to step onto the path of True Health. Discover a new world. Help yourself, help the world, step on to the Path of True Health and vote with your dollars company you want to support to create a world you will love to live in. I do, and I like the world I am helping to create. Together we can create a better life for all to remember over their entire lifetime Together we can protect what we have so we don’t need to live in a world that is second rate.
