“Cholesterol drugs may be changing the lab numbers and not the risk of heart attack: 600,000 deaths and $109 billion
spent on heart disease in the Untied States.”

My story:
I was headed for a heart attack and I knew it. I felt chest pains and was oh so tired. I went to the doctors and the lab work was ordered. Just the bad cholesterol over 300 was enough to scare me. I was prescribed 4 drugs to help control the cholesterol and try to get my health under control . I was lucky I didn’t have a heart attack and die, like my father.
I didn’t go into the doctor’s office lacking a drug. At the time I knew I had to do something so I took my drugs with the thought there had to be a better way. I was check out by the doctor’s every 3 months and I eventually found answers to eliminate the need for a drug. My goal was to not have a heart attack.
Drugs lowering cholesterol vs. lowering risk of a heart attack:
A new study takes a look at the effectiveness of cholesterol drugs lowering the risk of heart attacks. CBS news This Morning reports on a new study and interviews Dr. Harlan Krumholz, professor of cardiology at the Yale School of Medicine (1) discussing the ideas when cholesterol goes down heart heath doesn’t necessarily go up. Some drugs will lower the cholesterol and the risk of a heart attack doesn’t lower. We are not just lab numbers and the numbers may not reflect what is actually going on in the body.
Heart disease in America is the leading cause of death with 600,000 deaths each year at an annual cost of $109 billion in the USA. It becomes important not to become just another number for the death count. Some drugs are known to be effective at lowering the risk and some drugs that are advertised as a great choices have a disclaimer in small print saying this drug has not yet shown if this drug prevents heart attacks.
Final words:
At some points in life drugs may be part of an answer, finding the best answers can be difficult. Knowing if a drug is proven to actually help to lower risk is one key.. Understanding what drug is being offered and what all of our options are and their risks helps to decide what is right. I choose a Path of True Health that found many ways to focused on not having a heart attack that did not include man made drugs. The path I choose was best for me in my opinion. Each person needs to find their own best way and consult with their medical professional. Asking question and becoming proactive can uncover exactly the information that is needed. We all must live another day for a chance to be better tomorrow. The goal of just selling more dugs because they are on the market may be disservice to the patients.
As a country if we don’t have to spent $109 billion on heart disease where else could we use these funds? Even if we cut it in half an extra 54.5 billion could help this country become just a little stronger.
The more proactive we can all become the more likely the negative results in life can be avoided. Stand up tall with an upright posture and be proactive. The solution helps to keep moving the best direction is to step onto the path of True Health. Discover a new world. Help yourself, help the world, step on to the Path of True Health and vote with your dollars company you want to support to create a world you will love to live in. I do, and I like the world I am helping to create. Together we can create a better life for all to remember over their entire lifetime Together we can protect what we have so we don’t need to live in a world that is second rate.
