My Story:
I sometimes think of my life in terms of being vitamin D3 efficient and deficient It was a turning factor in my life as in maintaining efficient levels is today. It also makes me think of what I missed because I was deficient and the unneeded pain it caused during that time. Before I was tested I could only guess what my levels were. Testing is the only way to know what is going on. Vitamin D3 isn't everything and yet it is a large piece of the puzzle. I am never surprised by the out come on a Vitamin D study except when it says it didn't help.
New Vitamin D Study on they way:
A study out of Australia and New Zealand (1) is under way looking at vitamin D levels affecting hypertension, diabetes mellitus and abnormally high level of cholesterol in the blood focusing on urban premenopausal women in tropical country where there is plenty of sunshine. Vitamin D sometimes referred to as the sunshine vitamin because vitamin D is produced from sun exposure to the skin. It was found even in a tropical area vitamin D deficiency can be high. This will be the first study to see if Vitamin D will help women living in the tropics to over come life threading developments connected to cardiometabolic.
Final thoughts:
It is great to find studies looking into finding a benefit that will cost little to implement and have large benefits It could be surprising to many that even in the tropics where there is plenty of sunshine most of the year there can be a vitamin D deficiency creating more problems than necessary. And if vitamin D deficiency is in the tropics is it everywhere? The vitamin D issues is large and the mountain of evidence is growing on the far reaching effects on the body that cost little to correct and give so much benefit.
The only way to know your level of vitamin D3 is to have a blood test. Vitamin D3 levels may change over time. It is good to check with your medical professional. A blood test could be an annual event like during a physical or a few times a year. Remember to ask your medical professional about a vitamin D3 test, maybe they didn't check for vitamin D3 on the last physical.

The tractor that was used on the By Design Farm. The rust reminds me of what happens to the insides or the body when things aren't at their best like being deficient in vitamin D3.
