“Save the monarch butterfly
by planting milkweed and flowers”

My story:
Happiness has returned to the farm. This week on the farm I had visitors. Not humans, small little creatures including a monarch butterfly. I had not seen a monarch where I live in the last 20 years. When I was young there were plenty and as time has passed I saw fewer and fewer monarchs. This is not a scientific study, just personnel observation. I know there were mostly some that have passed thought my area without me noticing. Being a farmer and researching what environment creates the best plants and food I am always fascinated what happens to pass through my small space on the planet Earth.
North American monarchs massive journey:
A monarch adult butterfly and caterpillar (1) |
California, United States is famous for the migration of the monarch butterflies. In Monterrey California they stop for a rest on the 3,000 mile (4,828 kilometers) trek. Ending in Mexico. These butterflies are international travelers helping each country as they move from place to place with pollination.
In recent years there has been concern for a decrease in the monarch population. Some factors include pesticides and other environmental influences. One factor includes the food source of milkweed.(1) Milkweed is the only source of food for the larvae (caterpillars). No milkweed, no food for the baby monarch butterfly taking shape as a caterpillar. Starving caterpillars leaves no room for adult monarch butterflies. Adult monarchs only eat a liquid diet and feed off many flowers.
Plant milkweed to help:
For most the milkweed is considered a weed and is to be disposed of. If most saw the need or the beauty in the plant they would find it easy to grow and keep some around.
Please consider if you live in an area where milk weed grows to keep it there and help the monarch butterfly to survive. Just like us they are part of the web of life and the ripple effect can be felt by the lost of the small and large creatures of this world.
If you don’t live in an area where there are monarch butterflies than plant some flower without using herbicides or pesticides. The more clean flowers there are the more clean food there are for the butterflies and bees.
Final words:
One of the jobs of the butterflies is to pollinate while collecting nectar. If there are not enough pollinators that leaves the pollination to hand painting each flower. I vote to save the butterflies and leave the work of pollination to the bee, butterflies and other little flying creatures. They do help create the best food and the easies way for us to help it grow.
What is right for one person is as always their choice. Only time tells us if we may have taken the best path. It is for each of us to find what is best for ourselves. It is the choices we make that decides our fate.
The more proactive we can all become the more likely the negative results in life can be avoided. Stand up tall with an upright posture and be proactive. The solution helps to keep moving the best direction is to step onto the path of True Health. Discover a new world. Help yourself, help the world, step on to the Path of True Health and vote with your dollars company you want to support to create a world you will love to live in. I do, and I like the world I am helping to create. Together we can create a better life for all to remember over their entire lifetime Together we can protect what we have so we don’t need to live in a world that is second rate.

There is now some advertising on my page, I do not necessarily endorse the products sold. Look carefully I do not always have control over the ads placed. I am in favor of helping the environmental wild life and people. I do my best to try to have advertising that agrees with my this philosophy however it takes time to create what is needed. So please consider the larger picture before purchasing anything. Thank you for being proactive
