“Universe ~ literal translation ~ One Song:
New fight in Australia
for sea birds survival and against Coca-Cola”

I just finished planting. Touching the soil and adding compost create over the last year. The seeds of life sat in the palm of my hand as I gently dropped them onto the soil, covered them with soil and watered them I wondered will they grow. A bee buzzed past my head looking for some of the wild flowers (weed) that had been their the day before, A few feet away finding some milkweed to find the food of life. I thought about the seed as I watered them: Everything has to be just right for these seeds to grow if not there will be nothing.
There is a lot of trial and error on the farm and my experience grows each year. Unbound by preformed thoughts that have guide my choices I only look for the best ways to grow food. The blue jays chatter as I look at the plants that are a 6 weeks old already baring fruit and vegetables that will be ready in just a few more weeks and continue until fall if all goes well. I think how perfect the design of the farm is every little thing working together.
My farm is in sync with nature as much as possible. . I think of my life a few years ago and in every day life I hurt myself and the world with my choices. Soda was a big part of my life. Although I did recycle, but is that good enough? I drank at least one soda a day for much of my life. Originally the soda I drank came in glass bottles with metal bottle tops. Much more environmentally friendly, how things have changes and I went right along with the change to plastic bottles and plastic rings. Until I stopped.
Sea bird vs. Coca-Cola
Every time I visit the ocean I take back the smell and sounds of the sea shore. I carry with me the sounds of the sea birds and the image is brought back in my mind with just an image of the ocean. There is a growing threat to the sea bird and it is under our power to help. Companies like Coca-Cola, the largest beverage company in the world are creating plastic containers with plastic rings dramatically affecting the sea birds. The new video by Green Peace (1) demonstrated the effects of our choices in 30 seconds people enjoying coke and birds dying all around with plastic in their stomach causing the birds to parish.
ad to help sea birds not eat plastics.
It’s all about profits:
One of the largest reasons for a company to switch to plastics over glass is for profits. It is less expensive to produce a bottle and it leaves more room for profits. My uncle used to work for a winery and he loved to tell the stories of the success and mistakes. The idea of loosing half the shipment of a product because the design of the glass bottles were unable to with stand transportations was shocking for a moment. The idea of how to create a better bottle and save the profit was always interesting. During my uncles years of being a chemist of the wine industry plastics were available, but not used in quality wine. The soda industry wasn’t so picky and went from glass to plastic bottles almost over night. Without much complaint from the customer. Today it is rare to find soda in a glass bottle.
Coca - Cola history (2) tells that coke was first offered in bottles in 1894 and was also sold as a fountain drink requiring no bottle. In 1928 sales of bottled drink out sold soda sold in fountains. In 1978 the first two liter. PET plastic bottles which was popular because it didn’t break. In 2000 Ultra glass using partially plastic saving 52,000 metric tons of glass in 2006. 2005 Aluminum bottles introduced. 2000 – Reducing waste
According to Eco seed (3) Coca - cola uses extraordinary amounts of water to produce their product. In 2006 290 billion liters of water were used to produce the beverages with 114 billion liters of water in the product itself with 176 billion liters used in the process such as rinsing, cleaning, heating, cooling. One of the newest bottles “Plant Bottle” is produced from a blend of petroleum based materials and up to 30% plant based materials. The new bottle is 100% recyclable.
Are the company efforts enough?:
The company has a goal to reduce operation cost. Is that enough? Yes, Coca-cola is trying to reduce cost in production. The plastic may be 100% recyclable yet unnatural material (petroleum biased) are still being used. If the bottles are not recycled they become waist and are in the environment creating havoc. No matter what material it is made of if it has a ring or tab that looks like food to bird, it could be eaten directly harming the birds. One way to save our recourses is to drink our fresh water out without it having to be pre packaged or in disposable containers.
The water used in the production would be more effectively used directly to the consumers. Fresh clean water helps the body to operate with out the production effects of creating a beverage from a large corporation.
Choices life not death:
There seems to be more and more evidence saying the sugary drinks and artificially drinks are problematic for humans and birds. (2) As you vote with your dollars find ways not to buy small plastic containers, look for glass options. I aim high and do my best not to contribute to the problems. I have found this has simplified my life and isn’t as hard on my wallet in the long run. The choices become clear and I control me instead of Coca-cola or other companies. Save a bird and save yourself. Don’t drink out of plastic bottles when every possible.
Final words:
As I sit on the beach it would not have the same feeling without the sea birds. The more I drink out of plastic containers the more harm that is done to the sea birds. Taking control over what you drink saves over precious resources like water. It seems in life everything will always be there and yet it is possible within a few years to totally destroy one part of the ecosystem, possibly the sea birds. Just like a bee hive collapses, one day it is there and the next it is gone forever. Lucky we still have more bee hives for now and a sea bird population. If we drink out of a plastic container the best action would be to recycle. If each person takes care of what they use the pathway to a better world becomes a little easier.
Protecting the sea birds helps us all protect ourselves. We are connected by the universe and at best work as one. We all sing one song. When we sing well it gives the gift of all works perfectly. When we are off key, the song is sung and becomes displeasing. When we protect the environment we protect ourselves. Our food, water and life comes from all around us. We are not an island alone. We are always surrounded by water and life. .
The more proactive we can all become the more likely the negative results in life can be avoided. Stand up tall with an upright posture and be proactive. The solution helps to keep moving the best direction is to step onto the path of True Health. Discover a new world. Help yourself, help the world, step on to the Path of True Health and vote with your dollars company you want to support to create a world you will love to live in. I do, and I like the world I am helping to create. Together we can create a better life for all to remember over their entire lifetime Together we can protect what we have so we don’t need to live in a world that is second rate.

Coca-cola products from the 1940's from glass and metal bottle tops to a modern plastic Pepsi container to a killing birds. The bird used in the picture is a Magpie not a sea bird. The bird was used to simulate the idea of plastics bottles, rings and tabs doing environmental damage. The Magpie was found died in my yard, cause of death unknown.
There is now some advertising on my page, I do not necessarily endorse the products sold. Look carefully I do not always have control over the ads placed. I am in favor of helping the environmental wild life and people. I do my best to try to have advertising that agrees with my this philosophy however it takes time to create what is needed. So please consider the larger picture before purchasing anything. Thank you for being proactive
