My Story:

I opened the can of cat food and the next thing I knew I had a deep small cut on my finger from the edge of the can, no big deal. It didn‘t even hurt. I did the normal precautions and cleaned the wound and covered it. The next 5 days I worked on the farm with gloves, a wrapped finger and manure to spread. I felt just fine.

Saturday morning my jaw felt funny. It felt tight on the right side by afternoon each tooth’s nerve ending started to ache on my right side. I started to correct my actions and travel closely to the path of True Health. That was helping, but by Sunday night I felt my stomach and neck were tightening just a little, The thought Lock Jaw came to mind a nasty little bacteria that can live on cans or in manure.

This could be life threading so I did go to the doctor, there was no blood test run to confirm (test results aren’t always reliable) so I was given some antibiotics. I took these in tandem with staying on the path of True Health. In the long run I had all the classic symptoms of Lock Jaw and never looked sick for the rest of the week. The most I had to do was rest a lot! I am thankful what ever I had it wasn’t worse. I smiled all week long, this was a good thing. I do wonder if I could have healed myself without the antibiotics. I will never know. I am just glad I was able to over come this small bump in the road.

What is Tuberculosis:

I have never had Tuberculosis, I had never had something that felt like Lock Jaw before also. My little adventure convinced me I would always be at risk of something.

Most people in the Untied States knows what it is like to get a tuberculosis (TB) test given to children and adults.  It is easy just a TB skin test (TST) or a TB blood test.  No big deal except if you have the disease or  you  have a latent TB infection showing no signs that is not infectious. Sometimes a latent for becomes active when the immune  system becomes weakened turning into the TB disease itself.

According to The Center for Disease control (1)  reports in 2012 in the United States there were nearly 10,000 new cases. The CDC (4) also warns about an increasing risk of  multidrug-resistant (MDR) TB. The immune system can fight off the TB bacteria while others may get sick years later when their immune is weakened for some reason.

Globally there are more than 9 million new cases each year causing about 2 million TB-related deaths  with nearly 500,000 new cases of MDR TB diagnosed each year. TB is being reported in 58 countries.

All about Tuberculosis:

CDC (1) reports also TB is caused by the Mycobacterium Tuberculosis bacterium usually attacking the lungs or any part of the body including kidney, spine and brain if left untreated it could be fatal. It can be spread though simple everyday acts such as shaking hands, exposed from some one infected with TB that is coughing,  touching an affected area, kissing, shared tooth brush, food or drink or touching. Some people can carry the TB  bacterium and are never infected well others

New Treatment:

The new reality of the world is the diseases are changing to be unaffected or less affected by our traditional antibiotics.

The best defense to any disease is your bodies own immune system. Vitamin D is an important part of the immune system supported by a study (2) found Vitamin D treatments had a significantly hastening effect on pulmonary tuberculosis.
Vitamin D working with they body’s immune system seems to be the most important when MDR TB is diagnosed.

Final words:

No one picks the day they are exposed or contracts a disease and if it happens to be a particularly nasty MDR, there is not much modern medicine can do except help your body work with things like vitamin D.

The best choice as always is to avoid any disease to begin walking the path of True Health, it is the best defense to the smallest attackers just lying in wait to hitch a ride in your body.

The best way to know what your vitamin D levels is to ask your doctor for a blood test other wise you are just guessing and the might be the opening these little guys are waiting for to set up house keeping in you.

There is no choice when things go south there is a war to deal with in the body. I don’t see bacteria becoming weaker, I do see medications become less and less effective or totally ineffective.  Be proactive everyday to be ready to win the battle of your life.
