“Death to all Bird and the bees:
We can save them?”
~ Cynthia G. Creel

I walked along the trail at Yosemite National Park. It was a warm day filled with delights of birds, bees and even a bear. Every little creature had it’s place and for the moment I was a part of nature, understanding  in a small way how insignificant I was and yet how important I was to life on this planet. How all living things were important that keeps life going or stops it in it’s tracks. I made no difference and yet could make all the difference. I knew as I looked down at the carpenter ants that everything was needed to balance life out, even if I didn’t understand everything my actions would create life or take it away. The smallest way would help or hurt.

In the 1970’s it was up to us to save the water, good news is we did bring back many water ways back to life, The bad news is after much of non thinking and action it is time to put out a hand or a dollar to help the Earth to provide for us. The only requirement is to think and understand and the rest will take care of itself.

I have written about the bee population leaving us with the possibility of hand painting flowers to create food  (2). With the bee and insect population being affected by crops that spewing  out  a poison that is made by the plant created and designed by man.  We need the bees and other insects to farm not plants that take life. I have written about the red algae (1) growing in a giant blob creating a path of destruction killing by smothering or toxins that poison.  Man is creating this by  the run off from  corporate farms and any one using man created combinations of chemicals such as nitrogen and phosphorus as fertilizer which does what it was created for making plants grow in this case algae in our oceans that is just there, not caring just doing what it does surviving at any cost of life, who ever accidentally crosses it’s path is at risk of injury or death. Even dogs that jumped into a lake for a swim and died shortly after were thought to have been affected by a deadly algae. (4)

Now the threat is hitting harder and wider the birds in the heart of our farm land are declining in numbers sighted by a study by PLOS. (3) No surprise with so much of farming being unsustainable. As reported by The New York times (6) in the central valley of California alone there is too many farms who use unsustainable farming practices for us to do well in the long run. I live in this agricultural community surrounded by modern life affecting all of California and the world.

Corporate farms, any farmer or any one who is using pesticides in the heartland of America is thought to be contributing to the new threat to the grassland species of birds in Midwestern states, from ring-necked pheasants to horned larks to sparrows as reported by Pana.org. (5) If it is happening one place,  it is most likely happening where  I live affecting the central valley of California or anywhere pesticides are being used. How could it not be affecting our waters, food, and wild life if we use pesticides that drain into our waters? The study from POLS (3)  also talks about  a possible connection from the loss the loss of cropped pasture.

I look around and the world is changing, good or bad, it is changing. If I do nothing it will run wild, if I do something it has a chance to thrive. It takes more than one, but it all starts with one. Together we can help create a world. It only takes a little thought before you vote with your dollars by what you buy. By local, by organic, by heirloom. If you are buying anything else you will be supporting an unsustainably way of life. We a can not always buy what we would like, so I would ask you to buy what you can. To help where ever you can. Enough drops of water creates an ocean.

Stepping on to the path of True Health helps more than you it helps everyone.
